The latest issue of USA Philatelic made for a great envelope to send to Hester.

A fab painted envelope

Another wonderful envelope arrived from Fafa, this one is hand painted. It gained an extra postmark (in purple, I think). An interesting addition.

And really fascinating stamp of Sophie Calle - a living artist and writer. I love the perspective chosen.

Fafa sent me an envelope with this lovely minisheet featuring work by the painter (and sculptor) Edgar Degas (1831-1917). This is 'The Star on the Stage' (1878).

The stamp is issued as a single, with this kennel as part of the selvage design.

Postcrossing meetup in Lelystad

Heleen sent me this fun postcard from a postcrossing meeting in the Dutch city Lelystad, and even used a postcrossing stamp.

D is for Dimetrodon

Suzanne sent me an exchange envelope with a lovely detail on it that reminds me of zentangle.

And a wax seal on the back that, amazingly, arrived in perfect condition.

Great exchange envelope from Patty featuring her fun take on the Love skywriting stamp.

Ramirez from Mim

A very nice card from Mim showing a piece of Ramirez' art.

His work was featured on stamps in 2015. I don't have any left, however you can see some I used on this envelope.

The card arrived in this envelope. Love the wide-eyed cat stamp. And this is my first sighting of the 200th anniversary of Illinois becoming the 21st state stamp.

C is for Carnation, C tarifa, Correos and Cardinal

Fantastic C mail arrived from Eva.

The stamp has the no value indicator of the C rate, used for international mail outside Europe, and featured a carnation that is made up of various Spanish landmarks. The only one I recognize is La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

The fantastic envelope shows Eva's watercolor cardinal bird. the male is considered to have a brilliant red color, but today's post makes me think of the words crimson and carmine.

And more yellow on the back.

Eva asked me if I thought her cardinal was red enough. I thought I'd poll the audience - so what do you think? Is he red enough?

The reason Hester sent chocolate mail art

A long 'postcard' arrived.

And the fantastic reason for it.

I did send a dragon to Eric, so today seems the perfect day to show it.

This arrived some time ago from Heleen - love it, as well as the personalized postage stamp featuring Heleen's signature!
