So I was more than a bit surprised to see it back in my mailbox a week ago looking like this:
Particularly when I had included a very clear address on the back:
And removing one of the nixie labels revealed that this poor envelope has had a real struggle to be returned - the first label applied in June, and the second in August!
If you're interested, today's full moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon, as this is the time of year when these fish are easiest to catch in the Great Lakes area.
I never understand why it takes several months to the French post to realize an address is not correct (which on top of that was not the case for this envelope). Each time it happened to me the letter was back three or more months after..
ReplyDeleteAnd on top of that, it spent two months wandering around the US postal system. The mail is sometimes a big mystery.

It is a big mystery indeed.....I got mail back from South Africa after months of being MIA and it was addressed properly to the correct PO Box.....crazy...
