Painted airmail chevrons
Earlier in the year I blogged a few chevron envelopes I printed. They were inspired by designs that Alan B made. Fortunately for me he sent me one of them... and turns out he hand painted them using a stencil. Really cool. And Alan included a fantastic printed note.
You may/may not have noticed that there is something odd about the way the stamps are affixed. That's because this envelope had a misadventure.

Eric Mondays part 22 - cardboard
I had wanted to send just the numbers 5 and 0 through the mail to Eric. I used my Pacem letters to get it done.
Even though I wrote non-machinable, and paid the extra 21c (because of the hole in the cardboard) it still went through the machine, as you can see from Eric's scan.

Orange and yellow on the August exchange envelopes received
Here's my very loose interpretation of the yellow and orange theme for today's Sunday Stamps.
Yellow ice (s)cream cone(s) from Becky on the envelope and the soda fountain favorite stamp.
Orange tiger fur From Lynne, on my favorite of the circus poster stamps.
From Kate, orange and black to go with the Ray Charles stamp.

August exchange envelopes sent
Using some craft paper that a package was wrapped in, I created these envelopes to go with the new patriotic spiral stamps. I had a few extra envelopes, so Hester and Eric received them.

Wipe 99, and Wipe 98
I sent in some sheets for Wipe 99 in this envelope:
The issue showed up the same day as number 98 - which I thought was lost forever.
Some selected inside pages.
With wipe 99 came this bonus mini art book with fantastic minimalist trees.

Eric Mondays part 21 - celebrate!
I did send Eric a commercial birthday card as a bonus, and I decided it couldn't go through the mail without a little bit of decoration.

Sunday Stamps - Bananas!
There are lots of banana days in the mad as a hatter mail art world.
I didn't take part for banana lovers day (27 August), however Toni and Katerina sent me some fun things, so I sent them back two banana 'boats' using the ice cream sundae stamps, complete with split bananas and topped with cherries. These large stamps are from the Soda Fountain Favorites set issued earlier this year.
For more fruit (and nuts) on postage, head over to Sunday Stamps.

Karnival of Trash
De Villo Sloan at IUOMA has a mail art call titled Karnival of Trash.
I put together this book for the call, using leftover pieces from mail art I've sent/received this year.

Neptune from Amy
A lovely envelope from Amy, with the colors matching the Neptune stamp perfectly. And a clever way to write Ohio.
Thanks for the surprise mail!

Venus from Veebee
I posted the making faces MMSA postcards recently. Well, the one from Dorothea had its own adventure - it must have received the wrong barcode as it was delivered to Veebee in Texas!
Veebee very kindly sent it on to me in the wonderful Venus-themed envelope, complete with vintage stamp.

And even more fun on the back - a compass-shaped wax seal that traveled perfectly through the mail - with a nice big hint for the post office. Thank you!

Eric Mondays part 20 - Planet Insomnia
There is a company here called Insomnia Cookies that will deliver warm, freshly baked cookies any time! They arrive in a small pizza style box. The cover made me want to use it for one of the fifty fifties for Eric.
It seemed a bit bendy to put in the mail, and as I personally do not use this service, it wouldn't be likely that I would get another box. So I mailed it in this space-themed envelope. (I forgot to take pictures, so these images are from Eric's website).
