You can't really say that about this year's stamp, as a rooster on a red hongbao is the main focus. There's also a gold rooster top right.
Here's one on an envelope from Mary.
And a printed one on a KFC bag from Jean that was inside another envelope.
And finally, a beautiful rooster stamp on this postcard from Eric.
Update: the French stamp is issued as a 'Monde' or overseas stamp, as well as part of a 12 stamp domestic set, one for each Lunar Zodiac Animal - the set is beautiful.
Bonus rooster from MailArtMartha, that spent a long time in transit, was delivered back to her, and finally made it.
A rooster perched on a branch of what looks like a cherry tree is pretty interesting to me!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it.
DeleteI really like your rooster with the colourful feathers!
ReplyDeleteI've had some great rooster mail so far this year.
DeleteI think the American Year of the Rooster stamp beautiful - didn't know the designer's name, thank you for sharing! And sending, I'm very happy with the ones received from you!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh wow, the French stamp is great! Just dimpke brush strikes and a lit of white, and the rooster is alive, so wonderful!
And I love Mail Art Martha's humor. A good word of consolation to some men I know who are upset by their aging hair..
Haha, true.
DeleteI really like Kam Mak's designs for this twelve year cycle.
Just for info, the French stamp is the "official" stamp issue from the French post. It is not a personalized one even though it looks like one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Eric, I have updated the post.
DeleteWe always associated a cockerel with the French rugby team. I had to smile at the rooster on the Kentucky Fried Chicken bag.
ReplyDeleteThat bag made me smile, too.
