Zines

Z is for zines, minizines to be precise. MMSA occasionally has  a minizine swap challenge. A minizine is a zine made from a single sheet. You can see how this works here.

The theme was 'For the love of chocolate'.

The ones I created didn't scan very well because I used a lot of metallic chocolate packaging. I should have photographed them. Here are a couple of images from the MMSA site.

And here are a few pages from the beauties that came in from Mary, Trudy and bonus ones from Honi.

My favorite is the poem zine from Joanne.

And there it is, the end of the A-Z challenge, my first time participating. Feel free to celebrate with me by enjoying some chocolate.

I learned that there are too many blogs out there to read them all. I also learned the ins and outs of leaving a comment, from the very easy, to the sometimes bewilderingly challenging - almost like some people don't want you to leave a comment! Not to mention having to do the image captcha thingy every now and again to prove I am a human...

What did you learn from your A-Z challenge?

Did you learn anything from my A-Z challenge?

  1. I learned that you are much more artistic than me.These chocolate zines are most disturbing as I'm not meant to eat things like those shown.

    1. That's rough, Bob. I am a sucker for chocolate, particularly Cadburys, and I'd really struggle if it was off the menu.

  2. Hi Phillip - there's always a few hoops to go through ... if they are too difficult I give them a miss. I agree with Bob - you and your co-envelope swappers are very creative ...

I think some chocolate might be a good idea ... but glad I came after Bob ... so he doesn't crave!

I don't think this is something I'm going to get entangled with ... but can see the attraction ... amazing! Congratulations on finishing off with a Zine or two - Cheers Hilary

    1. Thanks, Hilary. It's a bit early here for chocolate (even I have my limits). Maybe later.

  4. I learned about all those neat zines. Since I'm allergic to chocolate, your images are all I'll ever have. Find me here. LINK

  5. love that chocolate poem from Joanne.

from the a-z challenge, I learned not to fret when you don't get visitors, okay, maybe I didn't learn that...let's pretend that I did.

    1. My philosophy is that if I'm blogging to get visitors (and I'm not a business), then I'm doing ti for the wrong reasons.

  6. That poem zine is divine.
Now, how do I resist your prompt to go on a chocolate spree? This month of sitting and writing has made me gain a few blogger buddies (very welcome) and a lot of extra pounds (not welcome at all!)
Congratulations for completing your first A to Z.
    I enjoyed stopping by here.

  9. Those are cool! I learned that I can blog :) Seriously before the A to Z I had written maybe 15 posts over a 4 year period and nothing at all since 2014. So this was a lot of fun (with a small bit of what-have-I-gotten-myself-into!! thrown in). I still have a lot to learn but I feel up to the challenge now.

    Congratulations on a successful A to Z!

  11. Mmmm... the thought of chocolate in toothpaste and soap.

Clever use of Z for your posts. Congratulations on completing the challenge! I've enjoyed your posts, but after seeing all your artwork, I realize my mail is awfully dull. But any letter via snail mail is better than no letter at all, right?
