S and T are for STEM
Combining two letters in the current Sunday Stamps trip through the alphabet to feature four stamps issued by USPS this year to promote the STEM disciplines - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. I think the designs are intriguing, and make me think of some stamps issued in the 1970s.

Me too, I think these stamps look as if they were from past decades. But the design is very cool. Of course, the best one is the onde dedicated to Engineering ;-)

DeleteI like these but still cringe every time I see 'Math.'
ReplyDeleteI was a little surprised that the full word wasn't used, however nobody calls it mathematics here. After a while you get used to hearing 'math' instead of 'maths'.
DeleteFunny that they write all words completely (so there is proof there is sufficient room for the whole word) except for math.
ReplyDeleteScience (including T, E and M) is one of my favourite themes so I love these stamps, even though the portraits look a little creepy, tmho.
Would be nice if they'd had added some stamp with the letter P (physics, or so?) so it would have been STEMP on STAMP :-)
I think physics is included under the umbrella of science. STEM is very much a focus of getting more people interested in these subjects during their school years in the US.
