These are also the first scratch and sniff stamps issued by the USPS.
I used some of them on envelopes 925 and 928 sent out for one of Jean's envelope exchanges.
This is not one of the envelopes, and unfortunately the scanner was malfunctioning a bit, hence the grey lines.
I also used some on this envelope and minimal mail art to MomKat in Greece. I called this one 'Is it pink, or is it lime?'

I must confess that I like more the design of these stamps than the smell. Not that it is bad at all... but they don't smell like ice popes!

DeleteGenerally called lolly in the UK with a bit of regional variation so locally called ice blocks but I love your combination words of ice pops certainly describes the pop of colour. Can't resist a garishly coloured ice lolly, a little bit of childhood. Super set of stamps.

DeleteEn France on appelle ce type de glace des esquimaux ,en fait c'est un antonomase car "esquimau " est une marque qui est devenu un nom commun comme frigo pour réfrigérateur ou scotch pour ruban adhésif ! Ces petits timbres sont mignons ils évoquent l'été

ReplyDeleteIn NL there have been issued scratch-and-sniff coffee stamps in 2013, but alas the coffee stamp has disappeared. In 2015 or 2016 Saint Nicolaas stamps have been issued, which smelled after 'pepernoten', a kind of tiny cookie-like delicacy, and also the typical smell of various spices flew away to make place for the smell of one spice only: the spicy pepper :-)
Interesting smells! Ireland issued one that I think smelled of strawberries, and Spain had a toy train stamp that smelled of pine.
