I think history could apply to so many stamps. In this case it is one about the history of Spain - the Treaty of Tordesillas, where Spain and Portugal divided the newly discovered (to Europeans) eastern and western lands between them.
I have similar feelings as Agi: the land robbing - and situation of the original inhabitants of the Ameicas in present times - of course is a very sad part of history. But the stamp in itself I love, as cartoonesk stamps are my all-time favourite ones.
History is rough - I often wonder what it would be like if mesoamerican societies had not been subdued. I didn't know that you liked cartoon stamps the best.
Made me laugh on so many different levels. Clever.
ReplyDeleteYes, a clever design.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the 1400s version of the bowl haircut.
DeleteI find these series very funny. It offers an ironic point of view over the landmarks of Spanish history. I do believe that I have send you some more?
ReplyDeleteYes, at least one more that I remember, there could be more but my memory is not so great.
Deletean amusing depiction of an event from a gloomy part of history (but most is)
ReplyDeleteTrue, hopefully we can learn from it.
