He is actually made of marble, bronze paint and branches, by the artist Helmut Smits, and lives year round in the Odapark center for contemporary arts which is located in Venray, The Netherlands.
He took his time to get here, arriving on December 27 after having been mailed out in early December.
We haven't had any snow beyond an occasional dusting so far this winter, so no chance to even think about building a snowman.
Have you had substantial snowfall yet?
Quel beau bonhomme de neige ! Pas de neige ici non plus !
ReplyDeleteHe is very cheerful, isn't he.
DeleteSo glad it arrived! Dis I tell you that I bought it in Antwerpen? (In a bit "posh" art bookshop).
ReplyDeleteWe have 12ºC right now, and a bright sun. So we don't expect any snow (anyway, it almost never snows in the town, but in the mountains, like an hour far away...). We must made our snowmen out of marble!
Yes, you did. An odd place to find the postcard, I think, but a happy event, I think. Haha, that would be an expensive snowman, but at least he would be eternal :)
DeleteI'm not fond of snow, but a snowman who doesn't melt would be an awesome addition to the Zensical garden. Of course, he begs to be decorated through the seasons.
ReplyDeleteI bet you'd come up with some great seasonal decorations for a Permafrosty :)
