I have received one of them this year, although it was sadly disfigured by the dreaded biro.
There are a couple of countries that issued some stamps that I like (and will certainly never receive).
From Norway, this wonderful 3D scene. [Eva, it made me think of you :) ]
And this really unusual and, to me, outstanding ones from Luxembourg. They are titled Mr Winter Joy and Mrs Ice Crystal. I can only imagine the outcry if these were issued in the US :)
For more Christmas postage, check out the links at Sunday Stamps. And have yourself a great Christmas!
I've got some of those from the UK some of those from the UK, with and without biro, and also in the form of postcards, so I can enjoy the bigger illustration. Actually, I keep receiving them, and updating the post :D
ReplyDeleteSome Christmas mail arrive after Christmas every year...
The stamps from Norway and Luxembourg mean certainly a change! I love the designs (I am almost sure I'm not receiving them neither, alas). I like that Spain issues a classic stamp for Christmas, but I wouldn't mind something different one of these years... Well, the classic is for the A-rate (within Spain). The B-rate, again, is rather dull (have you got my postcard with it?).
Your Christmas postcard has not arrived yet - I would have liked to include the stamp today. I feel like the mail has been even slower than normal at this time of year with a lot of delays for letters and packages. Hopefully it will turn up next week.
DeleteWow, I sent it on 7th December... I hope it is not lost in way! :(
DeleteI hope so, too, since your letter posted a few days later arrived yesterday. I posted. my mother's card Dec 2nd, and it didn't arrive until Dec 20th. I was getting worried!
DeletePerhaps it will arrive on Christmas Eve :)
And now I realise that actually I sent you TWO postcards on 7th December! Well, let's be patient... :)
DeleteJ'aime beaucoup les timbres de Grande Bretagne et de Norvège ! J'espère qu'il n’y pas de "Christmas mail monsters" qui ont mangé ma "gingerbread house letter " postée en Novembre dernier ! Thank's a lot for your two last letters !
ReplyDeleteChristmas isn't over yet :)
DeleteIt seems that the stamps are made of adhesive tracing paper (https://timbredujura.blogspot.com/2018/12/christmas-and-new-year-greetings-cards.html). How cool!
ReplyDeleteSo some of the envelope shows through the design? Nice!
DeleteThose Luxembourg stamps are a mystery to me - but oh so fun to look at!
ReplyDelete(her tumbler account shows these, and other very similar works, in clear detail)
Do you know the link to the Tumblr page?
DeleteI love the Norwegian scene and the Luxembourg ones are striking and suitably frostlike, I like his gingerbread man earing.
ReplyDeleteHe's got a lot going on, hasn't he!
DeleteThe only stamp from overseas this year came to me from Norway, Unfortunately it depicted a lighthouse - I would have preferred your marvellous stamp.
ReplyDeleteI wonder which Eva would prefer - the lighthouse or the Christmas scene.
