This is indeed a Target Halloween goodie bag, repurposed for my Halloween mail (and October envelope exchange). Hopefully you received your own version last year.
Well, the post office does hate it when mail is not in the standard format - although I did make sure to include the correct amount of postage for non-machinable (in fact, I paid 14c extra - you're welcome, USPS).
My favorite is the giant added NL for Netherlands. Never seen anything like that added before.
The largest addition is the address sticker, not added by USPS nut by Dutch PostNL - so not only the US Mail to blame :-)
Nevertheless I love this adventurous envelope, including all additions (even the felt pen lines on the stamps: the stamps are better visible this way than when attacked by the seasons greetings postmarks :-)
Until you told me, I thought the NL was written by you, and it matches perfect with the envelope!
Believe it or not: I didn't notice it until now! Maybe because there's so much to see on the envelope, or because I had your other envelope in mind (the one you posted before with this flying/aid-floating person as matching stamp).
And maybe that's the reason why USPS, as a strict teacher, has put stripes through the stamps! :-)
Comment transformer un courrier non mécanisable en une lettre mécanisable ! Dommage car ta lettre était vraiment bien ! Heureusement aucun de mes courrier n'a eu à supporter ce genre de maltraitance postale ou alors elles ne sont jamais arrivées à leur destinataire !

DeleteYes - I did. Loved it. My Oct envelopes are all scanned and scheduled to appear in Oct 2019 :-)

ReplyDeleteIt is a bit crazy what happened to this one. It is clearly addressed and correctly stamped with more than enough postage.
