Then this arrived from the UK. Post early is right - franked on Dec 2nd, but didn't arrive until Dec 20th - 18 days is a long time for mail from the UK, even at Christmas.
This stamp shows Jesus in a manger with animals looking on.
When I first saw this set of stamps I was not that impressed, however on closer inspection the little star details are very nicely done and they've really grown on me. My photo does not do the stamp justice.
The stamp closely resembles the card inside, apart from the fact that the ox is only on the stamp.
And another one arrived on the 21st. Pity about the pen mark.

And merry Christmas to all the people who take part each week - have a great holiday.
My lone card so far from the UK arrived extremely early - 4 business days. and she thought it would be late! sadly, it only has a 'normal' stamp on it :(
ReplyDeleteThese are very atmospheric.
That's a shame. Most of my Christmas cards arrived with standard stamps, too.
DeleteWow that did take some time, must have taken a leisurely cruise across the Atlantic. The Joseph one is my favourite of the set.
ReplyDeleteI like the animals the best, I think, so was very fortunate to receive it.
DeleteI made the 1.55 stamp the pick of this year's UK stamps. We always seem to have dismal coloured stamps.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
They do seem a bit focused on monochrome. I wonder what these stamps might look like with a bit more variety in color?
DeleteI have only received Joseph from this set (twice or three times!). But I guess most of my Christmas mail is still to arrive...
ReplyDeleteThere is one more Christmas envelope from me.
