Green for Sunday Stamps

Some (mostly) green gravitational waves on this German stamp from 2017.

(I think someone showed this stamp recently in SS)

Any color but red

Hester's message that arrived with this handmade postcard:

And accompanied by a largely non-red rat :)

Hearts and birds

Fun birds from Patty arrived in time for Valentine's Day. Clever to match the colors to the stamp, and a neat border, too.

Happy St Valentine's Day

Here's envelope 931 sent in an envelope exchange in 2018, featuring one of my favorites from the Love series, the paper cut heart stamp.

Bonus - can anyone guess the store the bag is from?

A Bhaca neckpiece

The topic for Sunday Stamps is a country not your own.

I rarely get mail from South Africa, so this stamp arriving last month on a letter was a surprise.

Issued in 2010, this non-denominated stamp comes from a set with the theme of traditional Beaded Artwork, and features a Bhaca neckpiece. The amaBhaca are a part of the larger Bantu people originating in Southern Africa.

Snow moon

Here's some moon mail sent to Katerina. Tomorrow is this month's full moon - in north America it is referred to as the snow moon. So far this year we've been almost snow free with no significant snowfall.

This is Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter.

Postcards from the Vatican and its suburbs, part 2,

This card came from Eva some time ago.

One of the stamps she used was this one celebrating International Year of the Periodic Table of Elements. The United Nations chose 2019 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Russian chemist Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev's first organization of the elements known at the time into a table in 1869. The highlighted elements Vanadium, Tungsten and Platinum were discovered by Spaniards.

Mr (Quarter) Moon

A very nice moon postcard from Eva - and Correos thought he needed a postal addition :)

Today also happens to be the moon's first quarter.
