Astronomy

The theme for Sunday stamps this week is night views.

I chose the Russian entry for the 2009 EUROPA theme, astronomy.

    Amillary spheres are fascinating things, I like the old and new concept.
    Whole chunks of time can disappear when browsing on Euroswiss's fascinating site

      I think the Big Dipper was on one of the other country's stamps - I think even I can pick it out in the sky.

    This is a beautiful stamp. I've always thought I'd like one of those spheres as a nice addition to my globe collection.

    At university it was always a treat to visit the observatory but unfortunately we had to study views that the staff selected. Great stamp series.
