Today's theme is big animals. I chose animals that are (mostly) larger than a human.
A giraffe and a giant panda on these US stamps issued in 1992.
And western lowland gorillas, a critically endangered species, on this stamp from Australia issued in 2016.

I guess there was only one way to portray the giraffe in landscape! Love how the panda is ready with his snack of bamboo. And it's nice to see a family of gorillas
ReplyDeleteYes, an unusual choice to show a giraffe this way.
DeleteThe first stamps seem much older. I love their colours.
ReplyDeleteThey make me think more of the 1970s than the 1990s.
DeleteThe gorilla family is a magnificent stamp.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of my trip to Rwanda many years ago.
DeleteI like the children's picture book vibe of the US stamps. They would have looked great on an envelope.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! They were issued before I moved to the US.
