One of the stamps, a large one, was issued in 2019 to celebrate the province of Almeria as a capital of Spanish gastronomy. Known for its greenhouse farming, the province is considered the garden of Europe. The central feature on the stamp is a heart-shaped tomato, and other fruits and vegetables are shown, along with shrimp - indicative of the province's 200 km (about 125 miles) of coastline.

I like the Spanish gastronomy stamps. Some years, their face value is to high to be used on letters. But this wasn't, and the design is nice. A lot of food on it!
ReplyDeleteThat's shame about the high value issues, the stamps are a good advertisement for Spanish cuisine.
Deletemakes me want to return to Spain to sample some more food!
ReplyDeleteTapas!
DeleteI like how the little pieces of food go right to the edge. Makes me wonder how it would look as a complete sheet of stamps.
ReplyDeleteVery colorful, I am sure.
DeleteA stamp to make me hungry.
