Letters

While I love receiving mail art in all its forms, thanks to Eva and Eric I have been re-introduced to the enjoyment of old-fashioned letter writing.

One from Eva, where she used a green pen to match her great envelope for spring. If you'd like to read the story behind the chickens in the outstanding stained glass window stamp, head here.

And one from Eric, where he used writing paper that matches this envelope made from a paper bag. I also enjoyed the not quite correct English on this bag from a Korean restaurant.

When was the last time you received a personal letter?

When was the last time you sent one?

    1. I couldn't imagine it would be long ago for either for you.

  3. I think I get and send at least one personal letter every other day. A day without mail sent or received is always a sad day for me...

    1. It is unusual for me to go more than two days without mail art, and I clearly don't send as many letters as you do!

  4. Personal letters what are they - just the odd round robin received at Christmas time each year or a message on a card.

    1. Christmas does seem to still hold sway with mailed cards and notes, birthdays too, to some degree.

  7. I used to be consistent with handwriting letters, but now it goes in spurts. I want to make time for that again. It's so fun to get "real" mail.

  8. I would love to revive the art of letter writing. I asked my friends on Facebook if anyone would like to receive a letter from me from time to time and didn't have any takers. I had a couple of penpals (one from France and another from Taiwan) when I was in high school. It was fun to get letters. Girl Who Reads

    1. My understanding is that there are several places online where you can look for letters. I added a link to the Letter Writers Alliance website to my post.

  9. The last time I received a letter in the mail was... so long ago I can't remember. I did receive a handmade card in January for my birthday.
