I've shown the lighthouse on this envelope from Australia before, but I haven't shown the Christmas stamps accompanying it. One even has my favorite Christmas animal - camels!
A British Christmas stamp from 1991. The theme for the stamps is illustrated manuscripts from the Bodleian Library, located in Oxford. This particular stamp shows the adoration of the magi. I believe that 18p was the second class stamp rate at the time.
And another Australian one, celebrating 50 years of Christmas stamps, accompanied by one from Christmas Island which has Santa taking his boots off (but not his hat!) and some interesting helpers.
Have a stress-free Christmas Eve, everyone.
I like the intense blue on the Australian stamps. I always enjoy what they come up with for Christmas Island each year.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the only one I have received, so it is nice to see the other ones this week.
DeleteHow coincidental that so many Australian stamps are posted today! And each one is different.
ReplyDeleteHow could I forget that the camel is a favourite animal of yours...
Merry Christmas to you and your dear ones!
Merry Christmas to you, too. I do like camels on stamps, they seem an unusual topic.
DeleteThose Christmas island crabs are indeed an unusual, but unique, sight!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be everywhere this week :)
DeleteWow, very nice stamps!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThose Christmas Island crabs get around, I found some too.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a festive time.
Mostly I nursed a cold, but otherwise it was a decent weekend.
