The twelve year Lunar cycle ends tonight, as the Year of the Rat is ushered in.
And this envelope features the last in a series of twelve stamps designed by Kam Mak. I really enjoyed this series, and I am impressed that a single artist was given the task for a multi-year project like this.
I rather liked that the USPS went in a different direction for these LNY stamp series. I'm not sure if we are continuing with the next series or not, but I hope we (both of our countries) do as I always look forward to them.
And thank you again for that great envelope! I loved that serie of stamps, and I must confess that it took some time for me to discover the tiny golden animals on these stamps :-) A really fine art design :-)
Me too, I also love this series. I read somewhere that USPS isn't issuing any stamps for the Chinese New Year in 2020. Is that true?
ReplyDeleteCheck back on the blog tomorrow :)
DeleteActually... I just got the answer on a postcard from the USA!

I hope they do, the Canadian stamps are always lovely.
DeletePretty. I like the continuity of one artist, the Isle of Man have done the same in the past.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the whole series together is really nice.
DeleteHappy New Year!

And I managed to put the stamp on the correct way this time!
