Clearer, yet more blurry

The postmark celebrating the 50th anniversary of earth day seems to have been short-lived, however I did receive another one:

      I am not sure why this particular postmark ends up so smeared compared to others using the same technology.

      There have been some not great Christmas ones in recent years. The Rudolph ones were the last ones that I really liked.
