I wonder if the designer was trying to emulate a fork for eating, not for pitching :)Or maybe the lines going up represent the desire to have food supplies going up?

Yes, I wasn't expecting to see stamps older than me in the mail :)
I've seen quite a few Freedom from Hunger stamps but can't recall seeing the Food for Peace message before although I imagine the US provided a lot of grain food aid.
It's a great message.
Food for thought let alone peace.
I wonder how peaceful the world would be if hunger was eliminated.
