That's great - I love stories about stumping postal employees with mail art. I just figure it out on my own using the USPS website. This triangle should have had at least 1.15 for international mail plus 21c for being non-machinable, for a total of 1.36. All my mail so far, with one exception, just gets placed in a regular mail box. Never hurts to have extra postage for an odd item.
