USPS issued a set of 10 stamps earlier this year based on illustrations from gardening catalogs originally used between 1891 and 1910.
Here are some sent out on envelopes 789, 791, 796 & 809.
I showed a few more of these stamps in a previous post.
And here are two that I received in Jean's April exchange.
Pretty flowers from Amy.
Watercolor and calligraphy from Thomas.
And Thomas included this neat wax seal that traveled perfectly (amazingly) through the mail.
To see more flowers, head over to Sunday Stamps.
Neat stamps!
ReplyDeleteThey are almost invisible on the envelopes, though.
I was surprised how well the colors on the stamps matched the calendar page envelopes.
DeleteI added the original set of stamps so you can appreciate them better.
Thanks!
DeleteI'va actually received some of these, and the colours are wonderful, in my opinion. I didn't write anything about the envelopes, but I like them too.
I do love the stamps, but the envelopes are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I wasn't expecting this set to match the envelopes so well.
DeleteWhat a coincidence, my birthday card has arrived early with nine of these stamps on it - had to go to UPS site to find out when they were issued.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
DeleteNice choice, and great to see your envelopes and how the stamps and colours of each envelope match, well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heleen.
DeleteUSPS has been killing me with its issues this year...so many wonderful stamps!!
ReplyDeleteI really love the envelopes designs btw and how they go well with the stamps!
Just wait until the large number of issues coming at the end of the month and beginning of June to coincide with the World Stamp Show.
