Snow for Sunday Stamps

This week's theme for Sunday Stamps is weather... this stamp is not specific to weather, but does show some snow.

A wintry Lowenberg Castle that arrived as part of Big Mail Monday...

This last stamp came on an envelope from Michael, containing a piece of his art and announcing his mail art call for dust bunnies!

  1. I think the stamp fits well, and it is nice to see the snow when it is hot.

I didn't know the word dust bunnies, I find it brilliant. And very original for a mail art call, indeed.

  2. Having rather hot and humid weather these last few days, I appreciate the snowy scene! At the moment it feels like 95F! (in reality it is 80F - but so early in the morning, sheesh.

    1. I planned this post a while ago, but I am right with you on the weather front. Far too many days over 90 this early in the summer. At least here it is going to rain most of the day, and cool down about 10 degrees. I just hope it doesn't make it super swampy.

  3. I received this stamp some time ago, too. Usually I am not so fond of buildings/castle stamps, but the beauty - by the contrast between the colours / snow / sky, and maybe 'nature' overruling manmade objects - made me feel happy to have received this one.

Dust bunnies, a funny word (I was thinking of animals which attracted me immediately to this call :-) ). In Dutch we don't have an animal name for it, even though it multiplies itself easily. I think it is named just 'stofophoping' = dust accumulation, or 'stofpluis'= dust fluff.

    1. I do like the view they chose for this stamp. Ophoping is so close to hop-hopping in English, it's almost a bunny :)

  4. Now why didn't I think of looking for snow on stamps.

    1. I found it a lot easier to look for snow than other weather types.
