Today's Sunday Stamps theme is royalty.
The only royalty I had to hand was of the Spanish variety.
Two monarchs together, King Juan Carlos I, who resigned from the end of the Franco regime in 1975 to his abdication in 2014, and his son, King Felipe VI.
The earlier Felipe VI definitives continued in the style of his father, then changed to include a lot more color.
More recently, the King's picture has been updated.

They are issuing new Felipe VI stamps this summer, after some years. I bet you get some! ;)

DeleteThe Father Son stamp makes a great item for a collector. They are certainly more regal looking than the nightmare portrait of King Charles III.
ReplyDeleteCharles III doesn't look great in side view, does he? It doesn't help that they used the coin profile, instead of creating something specifically for stamps
DeleteAt least on stamps, the father and son have no resemblance to each other! I like the bearded version.
