Jaar van die slang

This great internationaal stamp from Nederland arrived, courtesy of Heleen, accompanied with nice selvage to celebrate jaar van die slang. Included are the Chinese characters for snake.

In contrast, the postcard is all in English, the language of Postcrossing.

  1. Nice! I haven't seen this in person yet.
By the way, there is at least a non-English word in the postcard, too :D

  2. I like that the surrounding selvage is included. Nice shade of red.

  3. Always a treat when a selvage is still attached and of course a perfectly placed cancel.

  5. I got a similar postcard (Postcrossing) from Canada! It also has "happy postcrossing" but the theme was Valentine's Day. Where yours has par avion mine looks like a US priority mail sticker. So much so I wondered if the postal workers were confused!
