F is for Faro

 F is for Faro, lighthouse in English. Faro has its origins in the Latin.ancient Greek Pharos, the name of the island on which the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria was built in the 3rd century BC.

This lighthouse stamp sent by Eva was issued in 2010 and features the Avilés lighthouse located in. Asturias in northwestern Spain on the Bay of Biscay.

  1. This is a favourite series. I wonder why they didn't issue all the Spanish lighthouses. But still, there is a stamp for the big ones. In Catalan, we use the same word: far.
