F is for Faro

F is for Faro, lighthouse in English. Faro has its origins in the Latin.ancient Greek Pharos, the name of the island on which the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria was built in the 3rd century BC.

  1. This is a favourite series. I wonder why they didn't issue all the Spanish lighthouses. But still, there is a stamp for the big ones. In Catalan, we use the same word: far.

  2. Great stamp. I have a fantasy of living and having my art studio in a lighthouse. 360 views of the ocean, a private beach. I don't have to think about the reality of getting in supplies during the Winter months or storms 😹

  5. Looks like a tremendous view. As family visited lighthouses on the CA and OR coast when I was young. Quite a climb up into them.

  6. And the French 'phare' is also close. Maybe with drone delivery, CJ could get her food and supplies? If it wasn't too windy. It would be worth a stay there for the views.
