Chinese Calligraphy

 Today's Sunday Stamps theme is calligraphy, and I always admire beautifully drawn Chinese characters (also called logographs).

Blue and dragons

Well, the dragons aren't blue, but the background is.

Sent to Hester as a thank you for her last stolen page postcard. I know she's been enjoying the dragons going about their dragon business, I hope she'll like her own personal one.

I used my last two year of the Dragon stamps for these guys. The back of the card is lemon colored, I thought the stamp looked surprisingly good against it, although I think I cropped too much yellow away to appreciate this image.

The 2015 Mail Snail

Heleen in Netherlands has a fun mail blog. She also has this handsome guy that she created available to copy and color in.

I used some watercolor pencils as well as gold and silver (the silver just looks grey in the scan) to send him right back to her.

And I was making dragons for an mmsa swap, and they made me think of Jan H's dragon envelope, so i sent her one. I like this guy, he looks like he's zipping along on important dragon business.

I even addressed it with wrought iron writing in gold on an orange background - the scan looks a bit garish; it was easier to read in reality.
