Mail Me Some Art - Found Poetry

I decided to guest host an MMSA exchange with the theme of Found Poetry.

I didn't participate in the exchange myself, however I was fortunate enough to receive bonus cards from Susan

and from Laurie.

Both arrived on 'Big Mail Monday'. In these great painted and rubber-stamped envelopes.

The added bonus of hosting one of these swaps is the wonderful selection of envelopes swappers send their postcards in. It was also great to see several first-time swappers, including Rachael who takes part in Jean's envelope exchanges.

From Lynn:

The idea of MMSA is to send postcards through he mail, however Andrea's were sent to her in this envelope with a few added artistamps.

A Halloween request

This from MMSA swapper Laurie made me smile:

I wonder if I should send her one of my zombie envelopes?

Fruit sticker postcards out

MMSA had a fruit sticker postcard challenge. I sent these faces in, using the banana stamp Linda sent me ages ago.

And a bonus one for the host, Laurie.

Advent - hand made envelopes

Even though I have expanded my mail art horizons, the majority of what I send out is envelope-based.

This is one that Laurie had sent me, a very nice envelope made from thick brown paper that she hand painted, and I had struggled to find a matching stamp even though it was right under my eyes. I even hand-lettered it, which is pretty unusual for me.

MMSA - Silver Muse - received

The great set of four art cards received in the MMSA Silver Muse exchange.

From Laurie, Claudia and Sheri. Silver scans as grey for the most part, these cards are completely different in real life.

From Gina - love the tiger logo.

From Laurie to Laurie

Laurie sent me a set of envelopes she made for me to send. The last one has been sitting in my 'to mail' pile for ages, as I wasn't sure which stamp to pair it with, or who to send it to.

In the end, I sent it back to Laurie. She paints onto the envelopes, so it is a bit tough to write over the bumpy paint, plus my hand lettering is not the greatest. I think she'll be surprised.

Envelope 320

I sent Laurie M (who created the pretty MMSA envelope I sent to Smash) a calendar envelope.

Bonsai-ed and addressed.

MMSA envelopes received part 3 - blue, green and white swirls & wrought iron to Smash

This is an envelope I received from Laurie M in the MMSA envelope swap.

This is the only stamp that worked well.

And I had another go with the wrought iron alphabet in white to go with the stamp. This envelope is painted, and quite uneven as a result so writing was a challenge. I had a hard time with the 9 - I should have turned it upside down and written a 6, which I didn't have any bother with. I liked the overall effect.

The back is also very attractive.
