Mystery metro maps 4 & 5

Here's the 4th MMSA mystery metro map card I sent in for the swap:

and here's the one I sent to the host, Karen. (I don't know if she worked out that it is a map of somewhere she has been this year; I don't know if anybody has figured out that they are all real world metro maps)

Diary of a missing postcard: Wednesday

The 'paid' post office card showed up in the mail Wednesday attached to this fantastic map card which is from Sherry in Alaska. I was surprised by the coincidence that two houses on the same street had postcards with missing postage on the same day.

Also interesting is that the card looks like it should have been returned to sender based on this stamp on it:

I'm glad it didn't have to go all the way back to Alaska only to be sent all the way back to me.

Diary of a missing postcard: Monday

I made the trip to the local post office on my lunch break last Monday to pay my 34c and retrieve my card.

No line at the PO - bargain! Pay 34c - easy. 

Counter worker brings me a card and I leave. As I am walking to my car, I look at the card - it isn't addressed to me, instead it is for a neighbor. I almost leave and deliver the card myself (and would have if the line had been long), but I have received a lot of incorrectly addressed mail recently, so I go back in and gave the card back. The guy isn't sure exactly what to do, so I just say not to worry about the 34c (the beleaguered post office needs it more than I do) and go on my way.

I thought this was the end of the saga, but if you tune in tomorrow you'll be able to read the last installment.

Diary of a missing postcard: Saturday

I had been wondering when the fourth MMSA map card would arrive.

This came with the mail a couple of Saturday's ago:

34c due? Must be an MMSA card, I thought, and probably the map one that's missing.
I've received a lot of postcards this year, and none of them have had stamps missing, so not too worried about paying an extra 34c. 

Item not available until after 10am Monday at the PO, so stay tuned for part 2!
