I've got two of the British set: the one you posted first, and the Christmas tree.. Actually, I've already got four of t latter!
I received a snowman late this week.
The snowman scan shows up the the 3D nature of the paper art more strikingly than when one sees the stamp on an envelope.
Having received one this week, I agree. Perhaps this is one stamp design where the details are lost in the small size of a stamp.
The snowman is gorgeous.I like that these do not use traditional colours.
I wonder f the colors *somewhat* match the regular colors for Royal Mail definitive stamps? Blue is on second class, red (a robin) on first. The definitive 1.33 is amber yellow. My theory kind of falls apart after that, as 1.52 is orchid mauve for the definitive, yet green for the Christmas stamp.
I don't think I received any from these set. I agree, the snowman stamp is nice. Strippygoose artwork steals the scene from the stamps though ... the multicolor on the bottom left is very nice.
Her art is wonderful. I feel lucky to be exchanging mail art with her.
I agree that the snowman is the best of the British set although I haven't actually seen the others.
They are very nicely designed, they just don't look quite as good in person, which is a shame.
