Sunday stamps - an apple a day...

...keeps the doctor away. Here are three of the four 33c apple stamps from the USA (postcard rate from 2013).

Update: you can read about the apple varieties at USPS

Today's Sunday Stamps theme is health, medicine and the Red Cross.

I have this one from the British set of medical discoveries issued in 1994. This was also the Europa theme for the year.

On a side note, I *think* this is my 500th blog post. Thanks for all the great envelopes and other mail art, and not forgetting the stamps themselves.

Envelope 231 - Eat your zipcode

I am usually drawn to the Julie Chen stamp when I look at the celebrity chef sheet - must be the brighter colors. I'll have to start finding some envelopes fro the other chefs - I've only got 1 Julie left.

On a related note, I used food-related stamps on a package recently:

Envelope 462 - Happy Mail. And bonus stats.

Over at MMSA, Beth A asked for contributions for a mail art/happy mail workshop she had planned for mid-October.

Here's another envelope from an old calendar. The original caption read, "I'm doing my part to go green. I've had three apple martinis today."

Stamped.

And addressed.

October became the most visited month to date - by just 40 views. Cathy's envelope continues as the number one post. This is the first top 5 to not feature a post from 2013.
