We want your trash!

TrashPo bookmark sent to Mail Art Martha.

In this veggie-themed envelope.

The stamps are from a Farmers Market set issued in summer 2014. I think they are a nice se-tenant set. They were criticized for the somewhat high prices shown on the produce, with people saying that it gave the impression that farmers markets are expensive and only for the well-off. I really don't think that such a small detail on a stamp is going to influence anyone, plus I am sure inflation will take care of that eventually.

Envelope 231 - Eat your zipcode

I am usually drawn to the Julie Chen stamp when I look at the celebrity chef sheet - must be the brighter colors. I'll have to start finding some envelopes fro the other chefs - I've only got 1 Julie left.

Envelopes 421, 467 and 351

I haven't answered many mail art calls, however I liked Liberty's one for Hands and Feet.

I had this in my stack of envelopes.

And I thought it went well with all the hands on the Go Green stamps turning things.

Addressed in green, on the arm.

Eva also had a mail art call that I answered. Hers is for anything to do with the Wizard of Oz. I thought envelope #467 would fit the bill.

I really wanted to fit 3 Johnny Cash stamps in the black space, but no go. In the end I really liked the effect of Johnny plus a butterfly high in the clouds.

Addressed. I colored in the black town on top of the almost-transparent label.

And the back.

This envelope also had a graphic liner effect (nothing to do with Oz, though).

I almost sent Eva this next one, as she had mentioned the farmers market stamps. Terrie's postcard was sitting right next to Eva's in the reply pile, so she received #351.

(And this is the scanner having its usual meltdown over a white edge)

I like the way the stamp is not easy to recognize immediately.

Addressed.

And the back.

Bonus post - pumpkins to Cathy O

Not sure why I keep sending orange envelopes to Cathy. Here's my thank you for her cool envelope in the exchange.

Stamped with a Farmers Market stamp.

The orange back.

MMSA envelopes received part 1 - Vegetables to Adrienne (+ bonus link)

This is one of the envelopes I received in the MMSA challenge.

I thought it would look good with the farmers market stamps. I was a bit worried about how they would look given there is a lot of blue on the stamps, but I think the colors work really well here, and complement the envelope rather than distract from it. Adrienne lives in Canada, so she gets a nice strip of 3 of the stamps.

This envelope was made by Julie S, and it was hard to part with in particular because she added some great faux postage to the back.

She also slipped in the small cabbage note above - this I did keep :)
