Black and white...

 ...and read all over.

Today's Sunday Stamps prompt is black and white.

Eva recently sent two stamps, both issued in 2006, that celebrate newspapers that have been in print for at least a century.

They were both issued in 2006. First, a stamp for the newspaper Levante, based in the region of Valencia and first published in 1872.

And second, one for Diario de Pontevedro, which first went to the presses in 1889.

  1. I am always in celebration of newspapers (well, most of them!)

  2. This is a long series of stamps, celebrating a lot of newspapers in different regions. But a bit ironic, because some of them are on the verge of disappearing. At least, in the paper version.

    1. Yes, newspapers have definitely had to adapt with the changing times.

  3. Love a newspaper. I always like seeing unfamiliar ones abroad.

    1. I don't think I am familiar with any Spanish papers. Interesting to learn a little about these two.

  4. I had never seen newspaper related stamps before these, ironic really as the printing presses were picketed by protestors in the UK this Friday/Saturday.

  5. I hadn't heard about those protests - I've a little weekend reading to do.
