Thursday postcard hunt - light or bright colors

I didn't have to hunt too far this week, as Eva recently sent me this postcard of my favorite author, Ursula K. Le Guin (1929-2018)

A couple of quotes on light:

'Light is the left hand of darkness, and darkness the right hand of light'

(The Left Hand of Darkness, 1969. Winner of both the Hugo and the Nebula Awards for best novel)

    'Only in silence the word,
    Only in dark the light,
    Only in dying life:
    Bright the hawk's flight
    On the empty sky.'

(The Creation of Éa)

  3. That is a bright one, pretty too. I never "took" to La Guin.

    1. I think the way the artist used shades of colors to produce this portrait is very clever
