Envelope 724 - Stealin' Time

For John E, who likes clocks.

It's the June solstice, which occurs in Columbus today at 12:39 pm.

Extra:

On the subject of time, I do enjoy the fact that the USPS tracking system can tell me that a bar coded package can be  On Time , even though it spent 12 days at the Columbus sorting center. I wonder what it was doing all that time? Doesn't seem like a very exciting place to have an adventure to me.

And if you notice that the package was shipped Priority 2-day mail, don't worry - the post office doesn't guarantee this delivery time, it's really just a name and nothing more.

  1. Good thing the item wasn't a liver or a kidney

    1. Which is why you should never send perishable items by mail.

  2. Hmmm, maybe they were waiting for a specific weight of mail before sending on from the 'facility'? It certainly didn't take long to sort, though!

Happy Summer to you! Enjoy the longest day of the year.

    1. This is the main sorting center for columbus, at least a million people in the metro area, so I don't think so. And I've never had this happen before - if love to know what did happen.

  3. I don't agree. I think I could have a great time in the sorting center... ;-)

    1. I'm sure you would, but my package didn't have any extra postal marks. I was hoping there'd be something, but no.
