20th century inventions for Sunday Stamps

Pick up trucks, born in 1931. This stamp shows the 1938 International Harvester D-2.

The electric guitar, courtesy of Jimi Hendrix's stamp. Weirdly, as far as I can find, the first one was designed in 1931.

And Batman, first appearing in comics in 1939.

  1. I love your approach to the theme. It never entered my mind to consider Batman as a 20th century invention! :)

    1. Thanks, Eva. At first I didn't feel like I had any stamps for today, then I looked through some recently received items and found these.

  2. What would music be like without the electric guitar, nicely placed stamp.

    1. That stamp does lend itself to being placed like a diamond.

  3. I ruled out motor vehicles and planes as non-20th century, but can see your approach works.

    1. You may have been able to get away with mass production of motor vehicles.

  4. Great and cool out-of-the-box approach indeed!
Love it that you showed an electric guitar. I cherish (but nowadays alas hardly play) my Ibanez solid body electric guitar :-) Which of course is different from the Fender and Gibson Hendrix used to play. At least all 20th century inventions.

(The guitar player in this stamp makes me realize that the sixties, Woodstock, hippies were 20th century inventions, too :-) )

    1. The Jimi stamps were even printed on the pane in an unconventional way. They definitely lend themselves to different configurations.
