1984

It feels sometimes and in some ways that we are living in the novel 1984.

  1. That's one of my favourite sci-fi novels. But right now I feel like re-reading it and I don’t feel like re-reading it.

  2. As I recall, part of the story included how difficult it was to get coffee. The thought of coffee shortages is unsettling.

    1. I agree - if something that you've always been able to have is no longer available, it feels very strange.

    2. Like stepping outside your home, for instance :)

    3. I only had to do that for 2 weeks - will it feel bizarre to go out for a walk that isn't for an essential purpose?

    4. From today on, we have go out for a walk with the only purpose of walking/practising individual sport. There are limitations: timetable (according to ages), and distance. But, all in all, I think it would be nice for a change.

    1. Good one! I watched Contagion a couple of weekends ago. With scenes today from Michigan, it feels like we are not all that far away from the movie.
