Karen's exchange part 5

A brightly painted envelope from Mary.

And I think Linda's is very effective - nothing like an exclamation mark to grab attention.

A homemade envelope from Kathy McC - great splash of red!

This has been a great exchange - January was cold, grey and dreary, so the great envelopes were often the brightest thing of the day.

Karen's exchange part 4 - Groundhog Day!

Jeannie sent this lovely white calligraphy on a bright green envelope.

And she included a great drawing - thank you! And happy groundhog day.

_______________

This is one from Jan that is spectacular in person - the scan did pick up all the shades of copper, but not how glittery it is.

This is another one where the gold and silver don't scan as well. They do look great on this chocolate envelope. Thanks, Miki.

This lovely, hand-painted, large envelope is all the way from Sabine in Belgium. I love the abstract nature - reminds me of some of Smash's work.

And inside was a booklet of her poetry.

Great Route 66 themed envelope from Kathy M.

And a greeting inside.

A new year greeting from Eileen. I thought the scan made the script  a little hard to read - it is not so in person.

And some beautiful vintage butterflies from Bari.

Karen's exchange part 3

The first two genius incoming envelopes from Karen and Smash made me smile.

Karen's:

and Smash's:

Maggie's feather and bird are stunning.

Joi's envelope is so elegant. The writing is in gold, so the scans do NOT do it justice.

Garth sent this beautiful envelope - orange calligraphy matching the Western Tanager's head.

And inside, more orange on the feet and beaks of Charley Harper's 'Passing Puffins'.

Although Jonelle's 'send to' address is in the US, her envelope was posted in Sweden. An abstract landscape - right up my alley.

And one from Julie wishing me a happy New Year. Certainly this has been a great year so far for mail!

Karen's exchange - part 1

I received an invitation to Karen N's envelope exchange. Initially I was reluctant, but then went ahead with it. And a major bonus for me was the arrival of another Paper Source catalog - wow, that company likes to make you aware of its holiday wares!

To Joi and Kathy

To Kathy and Jonelle

To Julie and Miki

To Bernie (ha, can't believe how perfect Johnny is here)

And I thought they made a nice group photo.
