Sunday Stamps - Sporting events

Linda F sent me this silk and plastic cupcake through the mail. It has a large label attached with several Olympic stamps attached. These are from the 1984 set issued for the 23rd Summer Games held in Los Angeles, and feature the following sports: wrestling, kayak, diving and long jump.

    Hm, I usually love postal additions, but in this case I think it a pity that USPS has sticked a sticker on the postage stamps... Nice stamps, anyway!

      This fits into the 'naked mail' aspect of mail art. No packaging - just send it!

    I find it interesting to see which events are chosen for Olympic stamps.

      Yes, there are so many to choose from, it is surprising the stamps aren't more evenly distributed across the events.
