I received this great mail art from Alan.
This 78p stamp was issued in 2008, one of six stamps under the title Mayday - Rescue at Sea. This one celebrates the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and features an all-weather lifeboat being launched in Tenby, Pembrokeshire. RNLI is a charity organization, and its volunteer lifeboat crews work with HM Coastguard in providing 24 hour search and rescue service around the British and Irish coasts.
It also looks like Royal Mail was experimenting with a different style of perforation along the long edges of the stamp - update, see Bob's comment below for the meaning of the perforations.
