Envelope exchange 2014 / bonus faces: from Jan H

Jan sent this mixed media portrait envelope. I think it fits in the exchange window, although she referenced september's 29 faces. This definitely stood out from the rest of the day's mail!

The envelope itself is one of those with a thread closure, like an internal office envelope. I've seen these on design sites, and the effect is great. I bet the post office doesn't love them all that much. The sparkling splatter effect on the back looks much better in person.

Much more fun to open than an ordinary envelope, and inside was another face - Mr Dick Tracy on a postcard. I don't know where Jan found this, or if she's been hanging onto it since 1995, as it is in pristine condition.

Bonus faces

Bonus mail from Rose and Jan H (in Washington) after I sent them a 29 faces in september envelope.

Great postcard from Rose:

Jan made a homemade envelope from a picture of Wonderwoman, and inside were 5 bonus faces..

Bonus face link: CJ traced Benedict Cumberbatch's face from the envelope I sent her.

Not to mention bonus weird person in the flap

29 faces in september part VII: envelopes 150, 120 & 246

19/29: #150 to honi c

Honi C sends me bonus mail every once in a while. The odd scanner effect adds to the mystery of this image (for a change).

Johnny on the brain.

This is the youngest of the original set (it's still over 20 years old)

I like the global + Lincoln combo for the vertical address.

I forgot to scan this one with the flap up.

Improving the composition to a grouping of three, and using purple for the address.

29 faces in september part VI: envelopes 381, 359 &198

16/29: # 381 to Currie

There were several candidate stamps for this one, however I really liked the circus stamp. I've had a hard time using them as they tend to be quite dominant on an envelope (plus the large ones are extra large).

If only I had one of the Star Wars stamps for this one. I do like the smile on Gwendolyn Brook's face on this stamp.

Sometimes the scanner doesn't do so well with white edges.

The first appearance of Miles Davis on the blog, I think.
