The Mail Art Experiment

Diana H, a mail artist I know from IUOMA, discovered a stash of pages covered in handwritten scientific experiment notes.

I participated and the page arrived in this amazing envelope.

With a note on a nice card.

I received this page.

And turned it into this (the silver parts may be hard to appreciate.

A while ago I added to an add and pass, and, per the instructions, sent a copy to all previous recipients I could identify.

Moreno sent this amazing batch of images back.

Now I have to decide if any of them should be added to and passed, or just admired.

A square to Jon

Jon, over at IUOMA, found a few frames that each contained 9 wooden squares.

I decided to participate, then once the square arrived I felt at a bit of a loss. Then one day, I decided to see what kind of collage I might come up with.

And this is the final result I sent back to him.

When the board is complete, I'll post it.

Imagine Peace

I received an add and pass from William quite some time ago. As they are not among my favorite things to do, it took me some time to finally add something. I forgot to take a before picture, but here is the sheet in its current state.

It has been around for some time, some of the addresses are dated almost 10 years ago. The instructions said to return a copy - but to whom? So I sent a copy to everyone who had an address on here - we'll see what happens! (I forgot to scan one of the envelopes).

And Katerina received the original to add something to.

Update! My envelope to Elke clearly arrived, as she sent me this postcard in reply:

This translates to: Homeland Pictures, and Birth, Rearing, Slaughtering, Dissection, Packing.

Patricia's Postcards

Patricia sent me this postcard ages ago, to which she added a fruit sticker.

I added one more, and I thought I sent this to Tonipoet, but maybe she sent it along to DKULT to add more and return to Patricia.

Kraft paper envelopes

There's something about envelopes made from Kraft paper. There's a certain feel to them, and the neutral beige tends to be a perfect background for pretty much anything. And even though they seem plain, they still stand out from the usual white-enveloped bills that come in the mail.

I recently bought some for a mini-project, so now I have extras. 

These two were sent to Rebecca (in the UK) and Ana (in Brazil), with some artistamps added for fun.

I returned an add and pass sheet that Ana had sent ages ago.
