Envelope #132 - Canadian version

Remember last year's 'guess the stamp game' for the envelopes I sent in to the MMSA challenge?

Well #132 made it to Adrienne in Canada. In a surprise move, she sent it to me. She cleverly matched some music-related stamps to the envelope.

And included collages.

Guess the stamp game - the final answer. (And bonus links)

The answer to last week's envelope in question is...

... Joseph Stella's 'Brooklyn Bridge' from the Modern Art in America 1913-1931 stamp sheet.

Thanks so much to Hester and Jean for playing along, it was a lot of fun to see what guesses you would make. All the ones from last week would have been fun - I didn't even consider any of those as options.

Bonus links today. If you haven't checked out some of Cara G's blog posts lately, you're really missing out.

She runs an anthropomorphic mail art project that is a lot of fun, and recently has had some incredible mail art from Philippe Charron.

The anthropomorphic mail art project

One of the most creative pieces of mail art I've seen - giraffe by Philippe Charron.

His home improvement monkey.

A cooking dog, with an amazing use of a postage stamp.

And his fantastic bears, made all the more beautiful by the cool French bear stamps.

There's also a jaguar general.

You can see all the entries for Cara's project by clicking here.

Guess the stamp game week 6

MMSA ran a handmade envelope challenge - perfect for me!

I sent in 5 envelopes for the exchange and one for the host. As a mini-bonus for the recipients I included a stamp inside the envelope.

The game is for you to see if you can guess which stamp I included for each envelope.

Answer to last week's game:

Pioneers of American Industrial Design stamp (the Eliot Noyes purple one with the typewriter).

Hester posted her guesses just in time, however neither she nor Jean was close, so Hester's still on 2 points with Jean on 1.5.

And a hint - all six envelopes and different stamps.

Guess the stamp game week 5

MMSA ran a handmade envelope challenge - perfect for me!

I sent in 5 envelopes for the exchange and one for the host. As a mini-bonus for the recipients I included a stamp inside the envelope.

The game is for you to see if you can guess which stamp I included for each envelope.

Answer to last week's game:

Alan Shepard, first American in space stamp.

I think that's one of the ones Hester mentioned, so she's on 2 points with jean on 1.5. All the guesses were great - I would never have thought about one of the Hello stamps, but one of them would be perfect, plus Johnny Cash looks good with almost everything.
