In this veggie-themed envelope.
The stamps are from a Farmers Market set issued in summer 2014. I think they are a nice se-tenant set. They were criticized for the somewhat high prices shown on the produce, with people saying that it gave the impression that farmers markets are expensive and only for the well-off. I really don't think that such a small detail on a stamp is going to influence anyone, plus I am sure inflation will take care of that eventually.

It's nice to see this series all together. And I'm sure that all foods have varying prices depending on which part of the country you are in.ReplyDelete
They do make for a nice row of market goods.Delete
that set of stamps fits in so well with the envelope!ReplyDelete
Thanks - I try to give my envelopes appropriate stamps when possible, sometimes thematic, sometimes color, sometimes something else.Delete
Lovely and healthy stamps, and matching the envelope so well!ReplyDelete
Funny content, too. I don't associate the stamps with high prices, but the combination of your envelope with the content reminds me of how much food, vegetables, sadly are thrown away (at least in Europe but I think in the USA, too) because it looks a little less fresh and people consequently refuse to buy it.. Fortunately there are some initiatives of people who cook delicious meals using 'old', to-throw-away vegetables. But I think we all should adjust the 'supply and demand' in a better way.
Here charities try to obtain the food that is still good but grocery stores won't sell. In fact, it is often tough to get this food because the stores don't want to be responsible if someone gets sick from eating it. Quite a crazy world we live in.Delete
The vibrant stamps with food dressed for display make a nice contrast to the envelope of crops fresh from the ground.ReplyDelete
The high prices these days are for the stamps themselves sometimes. I'm glad we got to see the se-tenant set, so much better than separate stamps.ReplyDelete
They do make a nice se-tenant set, and I think this is the only time I have used all 4 together.Delete
I think they could have done a much better job with these -- I go to the farmers market 2 or 3 times a week all summer and the most fabulous summer tomatoes are $1.50/pound. Up .50cents from years before but I'm still buying them.ReplyDelete
They sound delicious! I like this set as they look much nicer in person. And I always admire stamp artists who can create stamps that look cohesive together and can stand alone.Delete
