The colors on the lettering are brighter than the scan shows - a very nice piece to receive. Cold with snow later!
A boar is also a male pig. I am not sure why USPS uses this term rather than pig.
Beautiful typography! On instagram I'm following several people from south east Asia, and I see them using both the words 'pig' and 'boar', some prefering 'boar' and on most stamps I see pigs (not necessarily male or female).By the way, the Year of the Rooster is the Year of the Rooster, not of the Chicken.. :-/
I usually call it year of the chicken for fun, even though it is rooster. And yes, really nicely done lettering.
I love the typography of your name!
This is a beautiful series. I think I'm going to miss it, even if I'm not a lot into this holiday.
I love both series that USPS created. I will miss it, too.
I Liked the ones with the actual animals on them...
I think a lot of people did not care for the recent series because the animals are not featured prominently. I like both series - the current one has been educational for me as to the other aspects of the celebrations.
The pig (boar) emblem is totally overwhelmed by the beautiful flowers.
The small symbol is a nod to the previous set of stamps which featured the animals prominently.
It took me a bit to find the pig!
It is subtle, particularly for the size of the stamp.
Love that galloping wild boar, or perhaps it is flying across the sky over the blossom. Superb lettering on the envelope, that must have been a treat to receive.
A very attractive envelope, and stamp.
