Flags for Sunday Stamps

I received this stamp a few years ago.

It was issued in 1989 and commemorates Finland's membership of the European Council.

There are 4 Finnish flags, one EU flag, and an assortment of flags spelling out the word Europe, although the main feature is a set of bridges.

  3. It took me a moment to see the Finnish flags!
    A nice design.
For fun, I googled Euroopan and found the names of the countries in Finnish which was quite interesting.

    1. Some very different-sounding names there - thanks for sending me down that mini rabbit hole.

  4. If the bridges are meant to be symbolic of links between countries Britain will soon be a broken arch!
