Envelope 462 - Happy Mail. And bonus stats.

Over at MMSA, Beth A asked for contributions for a mail art/happy mail workshop she had planned for mid-October.

Here's another envelope from an old calendar. The original caption read, "I'm doing my part to go green. I've had three apple martinis today."

Stamped.

And addressed.

October became the most visited month to date - by just 40 views. Cathy's envelope continues as the number one post. This is the first top 5 to not feature a post from 2013.

Canadiana from Adrienne & Stats

Adrienne sent this great collage postcard.

Interestingly none of the vintage stamps were cancelled, and it had a stuck-on barcode strip.

Removing the strip revealed two additional barcodes, a faint orange one (Canada?) and one in black. I'm sure that will remain an unsolved mail mystery as to why it needed three different codes.

Stats update

September ended up surpassing July as the most viewed month, with over 2000 views (mostly thanks to extra traffic via 29 faces in september, I think).

There's quite a different looking top 5, too, although Cathy O's orange envelope still reigns at number one.

1 (1) Exchange 11 - Mr Charles resplendent

2 (-) Faux postage + digital color postmarks

3 (3) Le Labyrinthe

4 (-) Not one of the envelopes 4 - Halloween stamps

5 (2) Envelope 100

Top 5 - new number 1!

I didn't expect there to be a new number one post this soon. And I didn't expect July to beat June by over 400 views!!

Cathy O's great orange, black and white envelope accompanied by Ray Charles is the new number one - thanks again, Cathy, this is really a spectacular envelope.

1 (-) Exchange 11

2 (1) Envelope 100

3 (5) Le Labyrinthe

4 (2) Envelope 81

Top 5

The blog is now 1 year and 1 month old.

The total number of views has exceeded 10000.

Last month broke the record for the most viewed month by almost 250 (over 1700 total) over March 2014.

The very first post has regained the number one spot for most viewed. The current top 5:

1 (2) Envelope 100

2 (1) Envelope 81

3 (3) Paisley

4 (5) 3D Address Smash

5 (-) Le Labyrinthe

Thanks to all the viewers and senders of mail art!

New number one, and aluminum can mail

I check my blog's stats occasionally, and the post about the first envelope I sent to Jean (envelope 100) has been the most viewed... until now.

The new top dog is envelope 81, which I sent to Jack M in the envelope exchange.

Tied in third place are the gingerbread snow scene I sent to Cathy O in the exchange, and the paisley envelope Michelle W sent me.

Rounding out the top 5 is the 3D address I sent to Smash.

And in completely unrelated news, Tony M has blogged about a piece of mail art that you have to see to believe. Kudos to La Poste for delivering it, and to the mail artist who made it.
