Today's theme for Sunday Stamps is peace.
You can find links to all the Sunday Stamps participants here.
Jean sent me an envelope a while ago with a lot of vintage stamps, including this one from 1975. It was issued a month before Seventh World Law Conference of the World Peace Through Law Center which was held in Washington DC in October that year.

Nice stamps, and information in the link.ReplyDelete
Thanks. I think they're both a little unusual in theme.Delete
The world has struggled/is still struggling to keep the peace by law and control over atomic aspirations of countries like Iran,ReplyDelete
Yes, it seems like the world is less peaceful than it was 10 years ago. IDelete
The atoms for peace is fascinating when thinking this was a period when politicians were generally warning about being blown up by atom bombs.ReplyDelete
I agree. Perhaps issued in vain hope.Delete
I like the image on the first stamp. I think this will always be a struggle.ReplyDelete
I agree - the UN has not lived up to its potential in this area.Delete
The concept of World Peace through Law intrigues me. I'm not sure I think of lawyers very often as peace makers. I like the design of the stamp, however.ReplyDelete
I think that many politicians, most of whom are lawyers, do try. A pity they don't all try.Delete
